Scan Gauge or equivalent that will work for my car?

Hi there,
I've got a 1993 Honda Accord Lx Coupe, and I would like to have something like a Scan Gauge, which gives instant feedback on fuel consumption. I understand Scan Gauge plugs into OBDII, which my car does not have. Is it possible to get instant feedback on fuel consumption without OBDII?

I'm curious on this too. Would love if my 95 had one...

Another thing,
if there is no ready made setup which will give me instant feedback on fuel consumption, what would be involved in setting up the necessary components to make it possible?

I think your 95 can accept one. Check out this link:

No, 96 is the first year for my metro, so the chart says...

Would a SuperMID work on your vehicles?

It sounds like a SuperMID is what you want! It is made by Yoshi on this site; see here:

They are brilliant - I have one, and it has made a huge improvement in my MPGs!

if any one is interested, i have a supermid for sale.. used to 3 months.. bought it for 165, will let go for 125

Hmm, looks like a supermid may work on mine, Ill make a mental note of that. Wish it was mph/mpg though, it'd take me forever to rework my brain for km/L.

I have a supermid, the km/l thing isn't bad, you are just trying to get the highest number possible... after awhile you start figuring what the numbers are since its just the number it shows times 2.35214584 so multiply it by two and you have at least an idea. Yoshi will have out the mpg version before you know it, but a used km/l version will work just as well. Its definately helped me. Before I joined this site I was getting around 26mpg in my hf which sucked... but i figured out some of my mechanical issues which gave me hope and my last highway trip I averaged 60mpg one way and 50 the way back. I had a 70mpg 10mi run also. Its nice being able to see what you are doing right.
