2012 cars
 

Not sure if it's a bug on the site or just people entering their cars in wrongly, but can we have the cars listed as 2012 cars here -> moved into the 2011 section? It's only right that the newest cars should be at the top and older cars further towards the bottom and for some reason these cars are listed as 2012 cars when of course this is impossible. I could perhaps understand if there was a new MY late in the year and people were trying to differentiate their cars because of that but these are MY2011 cars made in 2011 which have been registered on fuelly in 2011!

Yeah, people are choosing 2012 when they probably meant to choose 2011. Some manufacturers are into their 2012 model years so we need to have it as an option.

That's one of the risks of a site like this. All data is self-reported, including the year of the vehicle. We try to set it up so there's no incentive to put in false data, but people are still going to do it from time to time even if it's unintentional. It's just something we need to live with.

2012 cars becomes available here too, from as early as August 2011 already, weird.

It is not impossible, incorrect, or even mis-reported. There are already lots of 2012 models on dealer lots here in the US. In particular, the Fiat 500 debuted stateside as a 2012 model. There were/will be no 2011 500s shipped to the US.
