how to accelerate?

MetroMPG and/or COZX2 or someone who has gotten close to a 100mpg fillup? Can I ask you to please chime in and describe in excruciating detail your acceleration technique?

I'm personally interested in Metros since I think there would be a direct correlation to my vehicle and the geography is probably similiar, but would like to see where the techniques overlap between cars and location.

i just try to stay around peak torque (just over 2k rpm's) until im up to speed.

I assume you mean how to pulse? :)

I use moderate throttle (sorry - don't have a SG TPS value for you, but I'll try to remember to get one next time I drive). And I shift around - probably just over - 2k RPM.

I should add that I don't just push the pedal to X and hold it there. I press it gradually as engine speed increases. Otherwise I'd have different loading at the start compared to just before I shift.
