I I'm a new member with my fuel saver Civic VX 1992

I have 3 question for you?

I presently do about 45mpg.

How can I increse to 60?

My civic VX has a major hesitation when I hit the gas.
Some times it actually bogs down so bad it slows down.
It only does this sometimes under 2500rpm. When the engine is cold, no problem.

Can I replace my fuel tank(10 gal) for a regular civic(13.5gal)?

Poke around on the site and you'll be up to 60 in no time. First thing I'd suggest is to make sure the vx is in tip top shape, that's the main thing that holds them back as they get older.

Sounds like you might need a new o2 (like everyone!).

You can prolly replace your tank but I feel like it'd be a pain in the *** for what it's worth.

But I dont have any Check engine light.

For the rest, the car is in great shape.
Dont burn oil, new cap, rotor, wire & plug, New K&N OEM size air filter and running on Mobil-1 5w30 oil.

How can I be shure the O2 is going bad, It cost a leg! :eek:

If you poke around TomO's posts he talks about it a bunch. Good VX guy.

Anyway, it seems a common problem on the VX for the o2 to just get lazy and not do it's best, but not quite completely stop working.

Look at it from the O2 sensor's point of view...It has to work in a 600°+ harsh, toxic environment all the time getting covered in combustion by-product and soot. Then when we're done abusing it we let it sit in the dark and freeze (compared to the 600°+ environment. Wouldn't you get lazy after several years too?

But I digress, lol. Anyways, check the Ebay for the L1H1 sensor and try for one that is about $180.

Looks like you've got a great little VX there!

If the 02 sensor is original with those miles on it, I agree that it is probably the culprit. Did you use the specific plugs the car calls for with the specified gap? If not, I would switch to them. From my experience Honda's tend to run best on NGKs.
