"New" car. Mazda MX6 2.0

The Wench died on me... Blew the rear main seal. I was going through as much oil as gas...

Decided to go for a more economical vehicle. A little 2.0l Mazda MX6.

I like it. Sporty, but not ricer, 100% stock.

Any tips for a newer, lighter, non-turbo car?

Ha! I had the same engine in a 626 :p

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me it's a stick shift.

I have horror stories of the slushbox mated to that engine... The engine is great, the slushbox was sourced from ford - and is a POS!

Yup! It's a 5 speed.

Yup. A 94 2.0l 5 speed. Teal with a black interior. Just got new tires on it, pumped up to sidewall max.

Nice car -- very agile and stylish.

I would recommend just getting to know the car at first. You have an distinct advantage with the 5-speed. Would you be willing to try EOC with it?

I'm not familiar with how Mazdas react to IATs, a hotter 'stat, etc. Maybe someone can chime-in here. An engine block heater may be a good "start" -- pun intended :p

Sorry missed the garage entry.[newbee and all:D ] I work at a Mazda dealer, and used to see these cars all the time. VERY sharp looking car, and eaven 10+ years later not daited looking at all!!! The 2.0 motor is very long lasting, and pretty powerfull. There was a issue with that years auto trans, so good thing you got the manual. All together a great car!!!! Good luck with it.
