Seafoam..>Do I need to change My SPARK PLUGS After?
HI,
Today I seafoamed my car...1/3 in the brake booster line....1/3 in the crank case.....1/3 in the gas tank. Ran the car it smoked yada yada yada...im going to change my oil tomorrow...or should I run it a bit more and then change it. i have only driven the car about 15 miles since doing this...mostly at high rpms. Was reading online that I would need to change my spark plugs, the thing is the plugs are brand new, I just put these in, in the last 10 days. Do I really need to change them? thanks! |
nope

If your plugs are platinum, they should be squeaky clean after seafoam. If you are worried, check one like clencher says
And don't change your oil until you put another 10-15 consecutive miles on. |
yea with seafloam in the crank you want to drive it hard (esentially screw gas milleage) so the oil PSI is high so it forces the seafoam along with oil thru all the ports and hopefully clean a buncha gunk out.
but ive never heard of seafoam doing anyhting to the plugs... |
I bought a can of Seafoam to clean my valvetrain before my next oil change. I called Seafoam to ask how much to add and for how long. They told me to use 1 - 2 oz per quart of oil capacity and drive the car for 100 - 200 miles before changing the oil.
