Anyone thinking of buying an Aptera?
If you haven't heard they are now taking pre orders for the Aptera car that supposedly gets 230mpg.
I would consider buying it if they were cheaper but since they are saying $30k for it now I really don't think id buy it. But if it was under 20k it would be a very tempting car to buy and be stuck having to work for another few years making car payments. Still it would be cool if someone on here got one and blew all of our mileage numbers away with it. |
well if i had 30k and i didnt have hills in my area, and seeing other people with small cars around me (no huge trucks to run me over) it would cool to have. Cept i cant learn anything else about it because i cant manage their website!!

It LOOKS great, but only time will tell if it ends up truly being great. Even at 30k, I would definitely buy one if, and only if, it is ablet o perform at over 200mpg. Anything less than that and the thrill factor would fizzle out for me. Even at 230mpg, it is still going to take a while to offset the upfront cost.
If they can pull this off, you can bet that I will eventually be getting one. |
i have a feeling i would be ok picking one up when they make it more than just a spaceship that can't fly.
i mean conceptually its really cool. but i think i would have a hard time seeing one on the road, let alone seeing myself in one.... why is it so expensive anyway? |
If I were a collector I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I think it's rolling art.
They're expensive because they're low volume & hand built. Did anyone else read today that VW has resurrected plans to put the 1L concept car into limited production? |

The new computer animation has it looking pretty sleek. Still pretty phallic, but at least it's spiced up. https://www.motorauthority.com/wp-con...1Liter_new.jpg |
Neato. We've had a widespread "horsepower war" for decades and decades. Is a genuine "fuel economy war" about to break out?

I'll be rooting for it, but not buying it. If it were $15K, then that would be very tempting ... CarloSW2 |
