Carbon Tax
So, it turns out that necessity is the mother of invention (or consumer interest).
The "Necessity": the crowded streets of London required something to reduce traffic (not to mention the impacts of carbon-based emissions). Whether you agree with it or not, the "C-Charge", or carbon emission tax, is a law over there. The "Invention": Efficient cars that don't sacrifice emissions to get there. The Story. So it seems that people are buying smaller cars because they have a need to drive downtown. Personally, I'd take the 'Tube'. :p Could this be a lesson learned in law-driven Consumerism? RH77 |

I would call this a different legislative form of the Japanese Kei-Car class. Enacted for different reasons (save gas versus reduce C02), but achieving the same result (consumers buying smaller, more fuel efficient cars). CarloSW2 |
