We need 46 billion for war but can't spare 2 billion for health care for 4 million more kids per year! Every time a terrorist (or random person) dies, the health of one child in the states is automagically restored to full... Duh.

That is almost the exact point I just emailed to my representative and senators. I suggest doing the same!

Unfortunately sununu and gregg aren't even worth emailing about something like this, :(

Deaf Ears

There's always money for War, and not enough for Education or Health Care.

Target communication efforts on Congressional members up for re-election. This is the rare time that they might listen. Otherwise -- deaf ears.

Sweet, I wonder if any of that budget will tackle the Obesity problem (more than 5 thousand deaths per week). Or the more than 500 a week that die from power plant pollution (~30,000 a year). Or the >300 homicide deaths per week (17,000 per year ~= to illicit drug use deaths). How about the 700+ that get infected by HIV weekly or the 850,000-950,000 people already infected?

All of those American statistics.... One could only hope.... Now if one were to do a cost benefit analysis

Our own obesity is a more effective killer than the worst earthquake in America, the worst Hurricane to hit America and the worst terrorist attack to hit America.... You think mustard gas is bad, well my friends - let me tell you about the silent killer, corn syrup+

P.S. Nukes r very very dangerous. we cant allow those slient killers, w/ the lowest associated death rate of any form of poower gen, in our backyards! think of what would happen if one blew up! Compared to coal, we could only afford to have a Chernobyl w/ the high end death toll (~100-150k) every half decade or so! thats dangerus folks.
