A Alternative to gas saveing

Run your car off of natural gas . A lot of folks probably got natural gas right under thier house. Maby oil. Maby take the old shot gun go shooting for some food.
The alternative to saving on fuel is to have so much of it that you dont need to worry about how much you burn. Just run around in a big old school bus. I just bought me a old cable tool drilling rig a Bucyrus Erie #24 for junk iron price of $500.00 and a set of tools for $500.00 to go with it. Gona go shooting for some food. Here is what I got to share with you folks. I bailed off a little 440 foot oil well the orther day got 2 barrels of light weight oil the kinda stuff we get in the 2 zones around my neck of the woods and my crazy friend poured it into his diesel tractor and he said it ran fine except it smoked a lot.

Um... don't you have to refine oil a whole bunch before you burn it? Oil gets so refined that for every 10 gallons of oil mined, only 1 gallon of gasoline is produced.

If it DID run, would that make the schoolbus a hybrid? ;)

Could someone explain this post to me? I can't make sence of it.

"Shootin for some food" refers to the old Beverly Hillbilly's TV show theme song.

Supposedly the family got rich when the patriarch shot at an animal, missed and oil came up out of the bullet hole in the ground.

A cable drilling rig drops a weighted bit over and over and gradually pulverizes the ground enough to poke a hole down through it. They are usually used to drill for water, but in this case it appears that he hit some sort of oil 440 ft deep.

Possum on brick- What part of what state do you live in?

I understand the beverly hillbillies thing, the rest of it had me confused. I kind of understand now. My grandpa talks about taking "drip gas" off of wells when he was younger. Thought this may be the same thing.

Well at $500 a barrel I wouldn't be driving around in a schoolbus just for fun either :)

In case the point is being missed here Possum is that the oil in the ground wasn't put there by magic. There is only so much of it and you got to think about what we are leaving the next generations if we squander resouces (i.e. by driving oversized vehicles needlessly).

Also worth noting that all the carbon in that fuel we squander goes into the atmosphere when we burn it.

Also worth noting that we are currently engaged in a war in Iraq, and apparently it wasn't about weapons of mass distruction after all. Only a fool would think oil isn't a big part of the reason.

P.S. Bush now has his sights set on Iran. Not that I like them guys anymore than they like me, but c'mon.

That's the reason I'm a gassaver. I'm tired of funding Islamist hate groups like the Janajaweed in Darfur and Abu Sayaff in southeast Asia with oil money.
