Costco/Amex "TrueEarnings" gas rebate for business owners
This has been mentioned briefly in a few discussions, but here are the details.
Costco has an agreement with Amex to offer their TrueEarnings credit card. As a regular Costco member you can earn rebates on various purchases (the percentage rate varies depending on what you're buying; the link above gives basic details). These rebates are disbursed annually in the form of a Costco certificate. It's not money, but if you're shopping at Costco anyway and buying stuff you have to buy, it's "as good as." The reason I'm posting about it is: If you get a business TrueEarnings card, you also earn a 5% rebate on gasoline. Here's the language from the card agreement: Quote:
So if you're a small business owner, have a Costco near you, and have a need for the kind of stuff they sell, you might want to consider this. Rick P.S. Amex also does promotional agreements with different companies for their "Open For Business" card, which is the one TrueEarnings is based on. For example, right now you can get a 5% rebate for eating at Ruby Tuesday's, or 10% for buying any Symantec software (Norton antivirus, etc.) |
