MPG Calculation
MPG Calculation is wrong. My account is set for UK.
Last fuel up covered 422 miles. For some reason I can only input Gallons, not Liters So I've input 7.09 Gallons (32.23L) This should calculate at 59.52 MPG but Fuelly says 71.5mpg. Whats gone wrong?????? |
The setting for your car needs amending
If you edit the car you can change from US Gallons to Litres Trev |
udtrev has it. You just need to set up your vehicle so you can enter Litres instead of gallons. Here's more info: How do I add fuel-up data in Litres and Kilometers?
You also might want to take a look at: I'm in the UK. Will Fuelly work for me? |
Tried that Trev,
Still no joy. Had to convert Liters to US gallons to get it right. my settings are definitely UK |
Whats strange is all previous fuel ups have been OK.
Its just now that things have gone wrong. |
Your Prius is set to track with gallons. Have to tried changing it to track with Litres?
|
If you are still struggling feel free to pm me with a phone number and I will call and talk you through it.

Yeh
Got it thanks. God knows why the settings changed since my last fuel up. |
That is unusual. Did you change any other settings for your vehicle recently?
|
Um, can somebody assist me as I am having exactly the same issue..
my current MPG is 3! that being said, my settings are showing as MPg and not in L/km as I have selected in the settings of the car... Any suggestions? |
5p33dy, click the metric link the upper-left corner of any page.

Also your first fuel-up was a partial. Once you have a few full fuel-ups you'll get a more accurate average MPG. Take a look at: Why do I have to fill the tank all the way up every time I buy fuel?
|
Although i live in the UK and fill up using litres (which i dislike).
Why is there not a provision for calculation in UK gallons as well as US gallons on the site. Vehicle fuel consumption in the UK is calculated using Miles per gallon, and yet we purchase fuel in litres. I personally would like the UK to revert to selling fuel in Gallons. |
Yeah, the idea that we're going with is that it's easiest to report in the units you buy fuel in. That way you can look at the receipt or the pump and just type in the numbers without any conversion. I know that's a hassle if you don't like the way the pumps work, but we're going to stick with that for simplicity.

Pauley,
If you have your browser set to UK then you will see the calculations in MPG, At the top left of the website you will see US UK Metric, If the UK is underlined click on it to set to UK figures and remove the underline. You will then see your calculations in MPG. If you still need help pm me with a phone number and I will call and talk it through with you. Regards Trev |
