New here
Hello, my name is Landon. I live in Kansas City, MO and found this site after seeing lovemysan's skirted Saturn in the Culver's parking lot a few weeks ago. I drive a 1997 Ford Escort and never got very worried about mileage unless it dipped below 30 mpg. My hard driving has put me in danger of losing my license and I needed a new challenge to spice up my commute. The prospect of saving money doesn't hurt either. I've drained two tanks since installing my ScangaugII and my disc wheel covers should be here tomorrow. I've already seen great gains and hope to improve. I like the spirit here and hope I'll add to the community.

That's so cool that you saw his car. You, he, and rick should get together.
 Welcome! |
Welcome, welcome.
I agree - that's one of the coolest intro anecdotes so far. Way to go, lovemysan! Great way to approach ecomodding & hypermiling: as a challenge to spice up your commute. And the fact you've already got your SG suggests you're going to go deep. You're going to have fun. |
Swweeettt!
Nice! and welcome aboard. I'll be here next sunday. https://www.gassavers.org/showthread.php?t=5560 |
Awesome way to make it here, Landon. Congrats on getting the SGII already, as well.
It's great to see that your coming 'round to the other side of owning an automobile. Hopefully even more people will be inspired to learn the ways of the ecomodder and hypermiling too. Good start with the ecomodding as well, with the smooth hubcaps. Is your car lowered at all or do you have plans on lowering it? |
Welcome Landon  I'm in the KCMO region as well (Lee's Summit).
I'm going to try and make it to the meet on Sunday. It sounds like a good time. BTW, I love those Culvers ButterBurgers! RH77 / Rick |

Welcome to GS! Great story and great MPG start for your Escort! Woo Hoo! CarloSW2 |
Thanks for the warm welcome. I'd like to come to that EV meet sometime. I live less than a mile from the library. I'll be out of town this weekend.
I got my disc wheel covers today, cruised for election signs(no luck, just cheap paper) on the way home and conducted a successful experiment on how to heat my car without using the blower. It's a grand adventure :) And yes, my car is 1-1.5" lower than stock. Be ready for questions when I get done reading the aero section. |
