the Tahoe was chosen for its low impact on the environment while offering class-leading hauling and storage capabilities ...
Yes, because the environment really cares how much crap you bring around in your daily driver... Oh great, you can haul your gas hungry power boat to the marina - eco consciously

GM calls the Tahoe/Yukon Hybrid's transmission an electronically variable transmission, which has no fixed gear ratios as in a conventional automatic, nor any belts and pulleys as in a CVT. GM says this hybrid system promises to improve fuel economy 25 percent. That means a Tahoe Hybrid would average about 22.7 mpg.

Wow.

"the following 5 vehicles: 2008 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid, Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, Mazda Tribute Hybrid, Nissan Altima Hybrid, and Saturn Aura Hybrid."

That's the list of finalist. "Sigh" :(

So.... in 1987 I can buy a 4WD burb that gets ~18mpg combined, and in 2007 I can buy a 4WD burb hybrid that gets ~20mpg combined. I can see fleecing suckers hasn't gone out of style. :D

Here's something interesting. Of the top 100 green cars according to Yahoo autos(for what that's worth) the 2008 are at the back of the pack. Which leads to the question. Are we going backwards again?

Well, if you can seat 8 people and tow 6000 lbs at the same time - that's awesome! It's nice and has nice styling! The only major problem is that this vehicle is often used as a daily driver for one person - it should be used for hauling the family and boat around instead. A spare FE car should be used as a daily driver.
