Engine/Tranny swaps for hf

Hey there guys, just having a random thought on possibly getting a good summer/ not snowy time of year car and was wondering if the cx or vx engine could reasonably be swapped into the hf and possibly the cx/vx tranny. Finally I was wondering how much that whole set up would end up costing thanks so much

Depends how cheap you can find it. If you go through a JDM importer, it could be around $500-600 shipped to your house, but if you look around on places like honda-tech.com, the complete swaps can be found for $300 and less.

This is a relatively easy swap, and with the advice from people on this site who have already done it, you could do it yourself.

I'd say, keep your hf tranny. It has slightly taller gears (2.95 final drive) therefore, you save on gas: unless you like the precision and smoothness of a hydro tranny.... mmm... shifts like butter.

A VX motor would be the only motor worth swapping into an HF. The CX motor is actually basically the same thing that you already have, and would not be worth the trouble. As for the CX/VX transmission, forget it! 1992-1995 transmissions won't even bolt in unless you do LOTS of custom fabrication of mounts. And this says nothing about having to rig up hydraulic actuation for the clutch. Not worth it.
