Hello group--
Nice to be here where people don't think I'm crazy for driving for economy. I've driven for economy for the last 37 years (my first car was a '69 VW Bug best MPG was 37 back in the early 70's) My daily driver is an 04 Dodge Sprinter van that I drive 38,000 miles per year. For a huge van, it does pretty well! For the first 18 months or so, I kept a log of my MPG's, which averaged 23.15. Since I bought it new three years ago, I've removed the mud flaps, added a K&N air filter, folded the (huge) mirrors as close to the body as possible, and installed an engine chip. Now my MPG is in the 24-26 range, with a best of 30.67 on my last trip. All of this is with just "normal" driving. There are a few mods I'd like to try in the future. John Berger |
Welcome to the boards!
I'm sorta jealous, Sprinter vans are frickin' sweet! Bigger and 2x the MPG of any comprable box van, not to mention a hekuva lot more reliable. I've really liked them ever since Car & Driver did a review of it and had a pic of them rolling a Locost 7 into the back. https://www.caranddriver.com/assets/i...2003112417.jpg |
