Old Toyota with promise!
Hello everyone. Its great to be part of a few who actually care about our environment and wallets. I bought my 1990 Toyota SR5 manual in September of this year as a "Beater car" to drive to the city for work. My other car I bought brand new in 2006 - a Toyota Corolla LE, which is a very reliable and efficient car so far. I know my 1990 Corolla is old but it has only 110,000 and one original owner who treated her very well. I will try to use all the potential skills to squeeze every mpg out of her. I'll be posting in the future again.

change the oil and the old 'rolla will last as long as the new one. I wouldn't be suprised if it got beter mileage too

Actually I am getting better mpg in my older corolla than in my new one which is only 2 years old and has a little over 14 thousand miles on it. I think it could be that the older one is a manual and the newer one is an auto.
I also havent done a tune-up on my older one yet or changed the timing belt. |
I just bought my first Toyota in June. A Corolla. Love it.
