Isn't the top a pop up?

it sure is, it's something seen regularly on VW campers, i don't think it would go far with this this up.

i found an interesting page while looking for other examples... mostly focuses on older models though... but looking at it it makes all these "innovative" MPV's of today pale in comparison imho

My grandparents had one of these, I always found it to be a very good alternative to having to tow a camper, or drive an RV, but still had quite a bit of space in it.

Several years ago, my Wife & I were in the market for a VW Eurovan Weekender. The Weekender also has the pop-up sleeper, but none of the heavy sink/stove/closet storage units that the complete camper has. They were very difficult to find used and the ones we did find were too expensive for our budget. We purchased our `03 VW Golf 4dr(new) instead and in hindsight, it was a better decision.
