vinyl seat repair?

Hello all, this is my first thread, so I guess this is also my introduction. ;)

This starts with a gift that I received, a 1986 jeep comanche pickup 2wd.
I really like it, but it has some problems (to be expected, of course) like it needs some paint on the fender and hood.
But this thread is a pretty simple one (I think?) about some tears in the vinyl seat. Can anyone give me some advice on fixing this? I have been looking at repair kits, but I thought some input from people with experience would be nice.

the wider tear on top is ~11" long and the one below that is ~9"

has anyone ever had experience with this before?
I understand that it isn't overly complicated, I just wanted to get some input.

well id just use vynal seat glue(find it at any auto parts stores) works well for me, wont match but it will prevent it from getting worse.

In a case like that you should probably try to glue some fabric to the back side of the vinyl with rubber cement or contact cement maybe superglue but it cures too stiff I think. You need to repair the base fabric that gives the vinyl the strength - the tricky part is matching the split together while the cement is setting up and if you are repairing it without taking the fabric off the seat then it is even more tricky. Contact cement is good because you apply it to the surfaces and let it dry and then you can place the patch inside the seat and close up the gap and then apply the pressure to make it stick together. A few drops of superglue may help hold it in place too.
