Civic HX and VX Oygen Sensor

Hi. I have a 1992 Honda Civic VX with 174K. I was wondering if anyone knows if the oxygen sensor for the HX is the same for the VX? They both look identical, but didn't know if there are any differences in how they work. I had to replace my O2 sensor a while ago and picked up a good used one at the junk yard, but it was for a 96 Civic HX. Have not had any check engine light issue since installing, but was just curious if they were actually the identical sensor or not. Thanks for any insight on this topic.

Well, I checked my O2 (which is out of a 96 HX picked up at a salvage yard) and it clearly has L1H1 stamped on it, so I guess I answered my own question unless anyone else knows something different. My civic isn't throwing any codes, but was wondering also if an older O2 sensor affects FE vs. a new one? In other words can I expect better FE with a newer one over an older one that seems to be working OK. My gas mileage isn't what it used to be but with no codes being set, I was kinda wondering about the O2 sensor. I do have a lot of carbon/soot on my tail pipe which leads me to believe my engine may be running rich. May try to monitor the O2 sensor to see what is going on. Any other ideas?
