Test Your Local Gas for Ethanol

As some of you may know, most general aviation airplanes use 100LL aviation fuel, but with the rising costs of gas, more and more people are turning to mogas (regular pump gasoline). While this is a great avenue, ethanol causes problems for aircraft, so the EAA has come up with a way to test your local fuels for ethanol. I thought this just may be handy for those wanting to avoid putting ethanol fuels into their cars.

The tests specifies to use a 1000 mL container, but people I know are using only 100 mL containers in the essence of trying not to waste too much fuel.

Does the FAA allow mogas? That's a big risk when you aren't able to just "pull off the road" when you have an engine problem.

I think some certified airplane engines can get STC's to allow them to burn mogas. With my airplane being experimental, I can do what I want. ;)
