New Member w/SUV

GasSavers,

Awesome site!! I was led here by a investing site. What a lucky break!! I have read many quality posts by lots of members. I drive a V-8 SUV. I am a eco-friendly guy outside of my automobile. Reuse, Recycle, Conserve.
Is it possible to get 30-35 mpg's in a V-8 SUV? I use E-85 w/ the Flex-feul engine. Any ideas?

What is your v8 Suv? And 30-35mpg, well not sure about that, but the base line is to slow down, 55-60 mph, in city try to use less break, less acceleration, by enticipating the light traffic, the traffic. Also, if your manual, try use your engine at the lowest rpm possible, and since its a v8, you probably have planty of torque at 1500 rpm. If you go downhill for like hall a mile, try neutral.

Welcome to GS.

Welcome to the site.

E85 has about 83000Btu's per gallon where gasoline has about 114000Btu's per gallon. You will use more E85 than gasoline doing anything in your engine...idling, driving 15MPH, driving 75MPH.

What are you getting for MPG currently?
