Civic

I'm new to the site and I have come to save some money on gas!!!

I have a 96 civic lx (4dr sedan) with 100k miles and I am currently getting around 30mpg. (Half city, half highway)

Here's what I do to save some gas.

I've replaced the fuel filter, pcv valve and air filter within the past 20k miles. I use 5-30 oil. I shift at or before 2500rpm almost always. I've done the seafoam treatment about 2 months ago. I keep all unnecessary items out of my car to reduce weight.

I plan on replacing the clutch soon, and doing a valve adjustment.

So what other things can I do other than the things listed on the sticky?

I am a little weary about over-inflating my tires, due to the fact that over inflated tires wear out faster than normally inflated tires, and IMO would offset the costs.....

Welcome! There's a lot of good mileage available in that car. You've got the same body style, transmission, and engine I do, just with a few more features inside.

Have you done the Timing Belt? If not, DO. It's due right about now by your mileage. Also, check the axle boots.

Other advice? Pulse & Glide works.

Welcome to the site!

Don't be afraid to inflate your tires to the max sidewall PSI. They won't wear out any faster than the "regular" PSI.

Take some time to search around the site for more tips and then feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

Please fill out a garage for your car as well as a gas log to help you keep track of your mileage.
