Conservative/Liberal

Please, I want NO POST RESPONSES.

Just anonymously answer whether you are politically conservative or liberal, and to what degree.

It's more to answer a bit of curiosity on my part as to the demographics of the forum, rather than "Who is what" and that's why I'm going to request no responses saying what you voted for.

Perhaps as the poll goes on, maybe we can discuss the results, but I hate forum political debates... They just degrade everyone.

You need to add the following categories....

Marxist-Leninist

Trotskyite

Fabian Socialist

Social Democrat

Anarcho-Socialist

Anarcho-Syndicalist

Anarcho-Capitalist

Libertarian

Classical Liberal

Randian Libertarian

Rothbardian Libertarian

I did not include "Fascist" because to me they are a variation of socialist, save the socialists would have insisted that the State own the means of production while in Hitler's Germany the State tightly controlled raw materials and had heavy oversight of industry. In contrast Hitler had government paid medical benefits, compulsory public service for youth, gun control (which monopolized coercive force to the State), unpaid working days (taken from the USSR's "subotnik"), bans on tobacco (for public hygiene reasons) and many other socialist style inroads into people's lives.

If you want some brevity this condensation should suffice for ordinary purposes....

Communist

Socialist

Anarchist

Libertarian

Adding these four categories would help to define the many people around the world who aren't "Liberal" or "Conservative" in the US sense. I might add that there are many other variations than I added, including Maost, Bolivarian Socialist and many other versions.

I come closest to Libertarian though I disagree with them on a few things.

It's looking like what I assumed before the poll: This forum is statistically heavy with right wingers - contrary to national polling which suggests a roughly even split.
Quote:

Under this approach, roughly 3 in 10 of Americans classify themselves as ?progressive? or ?liberal? (31 percent) and ?moderate or other? (31 percent), and just over one-third of Americans label themselves ?conservative? or ?libertarian? (36 percent). After a follow-up question that asks moderates to choose between the other ideological approaches, a roughly even left-right breakdown surfaces: 47 percent of Americans are ?progressive? or ?liberal? and 48 percent are ?conservative? or ?libertarian.?

(Yeah, I know I chose a nice lefty site, but it was really the first actual poll result I could find via Google.)

I just socred a 347 out of 400, "Extremely Progressive" on the survey. I think that puts me about 3 points away from "Crazy".

Take the test and post your scores!

Conservative libertarian - with tendencies leaning more and more towards extremist libertarian beliefs as time is progressing with this current administration/congress.

Maybe more like 346 points away from crazy :)

Seriously, I looked through that "quiz" and it is so highly flawed that it isn't worth the paper it is printed on. Lots of the questions are like "are all people good or bad" and don't have a binary (or shade of gray) answer. Are you asking me whether the government should outlaw homosexuality or whether I think it is wrong as a Christian? Just because I might not like something doesn't mean the government should do something about it (a basic assumption of liberals)...
