VW new 70 mpg car
|
Very nice compared to what's out there but very disappointing from VW. Where's my 1L?
|
probably won't see it in the states...

or in the case of the 1L... DIESEL hits $10/gal.

I wonder what the cost would be against a regular TDI. |
very impressive and it's not ugly!
|
But Diesel prices suck compared to 87 octane. Station post - $3.05 vs $3.53 for diesel!

70 mpg been there
The vw rabbit or jetta with a 1.6 lt diesel got exceptionally good fuel mileage up to 70+ mpg. However the market demand was more speed and cruising at the top end of the maximum allowable speed limit so vw and all those other cars that got good mileage had their engine sizes increased for the consumer to be satisfied. If north america could live at a gentler pace we could get by with a smaller engine and still have cleaner air. Won't happen because those in power decide for us.
