Hi, from a new member
 

Hi, everybody! My name is Jesse. I live in 3 almost mutually exclusive worlds of driving; Being efficient, racing autocross, and RVing. I have studied how to save gas, and am looking forward to learning, and sharing what I've learned. Bob Sikosrsky wrote a good book about it that you all probably already read "How to get more miles per gallon". I typically get 15% better MPG from my vehicles, but I love driving, so I probably use almost as much gas as the average person.
About 10 years ago, I had a Chevy 3/4 ton travelling van that started at about 16 MPG, and I got it up to 21, doing things that I just read about yesterday on this forum, plus a few other things (some of which were for carburated engines).
Well, I'm going to get on with researching this forum, and contributing.

My vehicles are:
A '93 Mazda Mx-3 GS 1.8 L V6 DOHC 24 valves. It got about 27 mpg. HWY, and now gets 31, and has seen 35.
Another MX-3, this one set up for racing, with a high compression 2.5 L V6, and suspension upgraded, etc.. soon to have Lexan windows. When I got it, it got about 25 mpg, and now gets about 29, and has seen 31.
A '74 Mercedes 450 SLC. I don't drive it, because mileage is horrible, and I'm completely restoring it to sell.
An '84 Winnabego 33' Elan'dan motorhome. The mileage varies, according to the gauge, and seemed to be about 15 fully loaded with 8 people and a theme camp for Burning Man (Loaded down so much with structures, water, art, food, etc., that the wheel gap dropped about 2 inches). During the trip, I made adjustments so I ended up getting about 18 mpg. With more adjustments, I think I can get 20 mpg.
