Logging mileage via text message

Fuelly fill up logging via text message problems - fuelly number is a land line and cannot receive text messages?

I received notification from Verizon Wireless (my cell phone provider) when I sent a text message to log my mileage saying that the number was a land line and it could not receive text messages and I had the option of sending the text message as a voice recording for $0.25 (yeah right). So has anyone else encountered this problem or know what's going on? I have successfully logged my fuel mileage using this feature for some time now without any problems. I rechecked the number and it is in fact the correct number.

I apologize for the hassle. This is an ongoing problem with our SMS provider. We're working with them to try to resolve the issue.

We provide our SMS service through a company called Twilio. We pay for every SMS that flows through their system. They are experiencing technical difficulty with our number right now that must be difficult for them to track down. We've heard from a Twilio representative that they have "...a message in to our carrier again about this issue. I'll let you know when I have more information."

I know this is frustrating. We're just as frustrated as you are. Twilio has an incentive to keep our account working because we spend money with them when the number works. When the number is down like this they aren't making any money from us.

Our hands are tied here at the moment. We have a number of ways to add fuel-ups to the system including the website and Fuelly Mobile. So you might want to try using those for a while until this is sorted out.

Error messages all day on the 1st and 2nd as I traveled from Dallas to Knoxville, TN.

The latest word from Twilio is that the problem is now only happening for folks on AT&T. They're working with them to get things working again.
