Ultimate blow to the FE.
My car finally kicked the bucket. Wow, this sucks alot..
I was driving and it sounded like I ran over something big. No steering, had to force it in someone's yard. The frame around the suspension tore away from the car, causing the suspension to fold up under the left-front. Atleast it didnt happen on the hgihway.... Back to 17mpg till I find something new |
There's a bright side. Your dead car now uses ZERO fuel.
|
did rust killed the suspension? i can see from the pics its pretty rusted at the wheel well.
|
i suppose that's why we have annual technical inspection over here...
good thing you're ok...hope you find an efficient new ride soon |
salt roads during the winter definitly took its toll on the car. Also, she's like 13
years old. Yup, it rusted the frame out bad enough that a bump on the road caused it to tear out, thats the best I can explain it as... |
weve had it happen before, least ours happened when we were taking off froma stop sign, loud clunk and car suddently stopped lol...
well now u can either haul it to a junkyard or scrap yard and see what u can get, those older cars had a suprisimg ammount of steel in em :) |
Not enough to buy a new car, thats for sure. I have a 12,000 school bill waiting too...hmm
|
i thought cars in Maryland don't have as much rust issues?
alot of people here in philly buy cars from Delaware/Maryland/Virginia because theres less rust. some go as far as florida |
Ha, don't know where you got that from? Maybe Eastern Maryland, they probably get alot less snow and therefor less salt, but I'm up in the Appalachian Mountains in Western MD.
|
Keep the clunker and add a scooter instead of another car...just an idea.
