EOC killed my car?

Went to crank this morning and nothing. No turning of the starter, not even any dash lights. Battery is good, a jump does nothing. No main fuses blown. Bump starting would not get it going. Pushing it back up the hill was no fun.

My theory? EOC has killed my car. A typical person uses their ignition switch twice per trip - once to turn the car on, once to turn it off. I estimate that I use my ignition switch a minimum of 20 times per trip with all the EOC that I do. That means that my ignition switch will wear out 10 times faster than the average driver. I replaced a bad ignition switch about 4 years ago in this car - it died due to non EOC issues. I have a log of miles / time put on this ignition switch from new to dead. A new ignition switch is $48 from AutoZone.

I will confirm tonight when I get home from work whether or not it is the ignition switch. I have thought this may happen ever since I started EOC'ing.

Along with starter wear, this is definitely something to think about while EOC'ing!

install an ignition or fuel kill switch ASAP.

you're absolutely right... replace the ignition switch and leave it alone.

So it wasn't my ignition switch. My (+) battery lead that goes to the fuse box has corroded and broken in half. I have thought of putting a kill button in for a while so I don't have to wear out my ignition.
