Free Gumout Regane Fuel System Cleaner...but is it any good?

I've heard lots of people swearing by these products (increasing fuel economy, cleaning injectors, better throttle response) and others condemning them as worthless. Some say just get some Seafoam, but others say Seafoam kills high-milage engines. Furthermore, some people say to use it on a near-empty tank, while others say use it when full (like the instructions say). And then some people say you have to do long highway driving as opposed to city driving, and others say the opposite...

...Its free though! Any thoughts on this product? It couldn't hurt, right?

its 12oz of fuel you would otherwise have to pay for... although its probly not as good as gas, but if you dont drive to get it or have to use a stamp for the rebate, its worth something.

personally i think vurtually everything is just snake oil. the only injector cleaner i've used successfully to, or heard of, fixing a misfire/check engine light due to a partially clogged injector, is a 10% solution of GM top engine cleaner and gas ran through the fuel rail.

Regane is a great fuel system cleaner. One of the better ones on the market. Not everyone needs it. Certainly not in vast quantities. But the stuff does have a purpose. You guys really need to read up on bitog. There are some good professional insights on that site-not just salesmen. You'd clear up a lot of questions regarding fuel and oil and the various additives. Most everyone there has experience with one thing or another.
