mapping system

I am about to start a new commute, albeit for 2 weeks, in southeast Michigan. I am going to be driving about 20 miles, each way. Does anyone know of a good website that will not only map out your course, but help you to avoid traffic signals and stop signs?

As a side note, I am not going to be able to use any highways (and would rather avoid them due to the high speeds that people travel at in Michigan) as there are none in my trajectory.

IF google maps/earth has good enough satellite imagery of the area, you should be able to tell which intersections have stop signs, which have lights, which have a filter lane for turning right etc.

I would probably use Microsoft Streets & Trips, map out a bunch of routes, and try each one.
