1995 VX for $4500, is it worth it?

Hi,

New to Gassavers.org, but have been reading a lot of the useful post and it has help with my gas mileage. Gas prices has gone so much that even though I drive a Civic, it does not get as good MPG as the Civic VX. Recently, I found a 1995 Civic VX for $4500 with 206000 miles. Do you guys think its a good buy?
Thanks in advance for info.

Cheers,

Talerien

too many miles for the price...

Thanks for the Info Bibi,

I was thinking the same thing, but I read on gassavers forums that VX engines are a dime a dozen, lol, So I could swap out the old engine and put one with less miles. Would that be feasible, or cost efficient?

where are you located? prices in CA tend to be higher than elsewhere in the country. $4500 does sound quite high... I'd expect a very clean car with low miles for that kind of money. I bought a VX in WA for $3000 a few months ago (180k miles), and see them occasionally in that range.

then again, if you don't mind paying a little extra and want one now.... they're great cars. i haven't done it myself, but i've heard of many here who have done engine swaps.

if you haven't been looking long, you might want to dig a little harder. they're getting more and more popular as gas goes up (so don't wait too long!)

Hi Slogfilet,

I'm Located in southern california, the car for sale is located in nevada. Short on cash, thats why, I was wondering if it would be worth it. I think I'll pass this one and search harder for one with less mileage. Thanks
