Civic HX question

I have a question. I recently purchased an 98 Civic HX, but it's a CA emissions vehicle. Does this particular vehicle have lean burn? I've done some googleing and people seem to claim both that it does because it was CA certified, and others claiming not. I even found someone that said that it DOES, but instead of a 1:25 fuel/air ratio, it's only 1:22 in the CA emissions car.

Is there a way i can test this out? I ordered a scangauge but i don't expect it to be here for a few weeks. If i have to identify the engine, where do i look for the engine model?

yes it does have lean burn. usually occurs above 50mph in 5th but can happen in lower speeds and lower gear. look for 5 wires on your o2 sensor. i also have a 98 hx.
