1996 civic pwr window issues.

any one have a good source for power window info.

my drivers side is hosed.

i have the skin pulled and keep a 10 mm socket in the event i want to roll the window up.

any how toos on how to set up the tracks ive been messing with it for two weeks now.

Is the door skin needed to keep it in track?

the fwd lower comes out of track when the window rolls up. some times i get 3 or 4 out of it other times it just jumps.

You're sure the glass is properly bolted to the regulator?
And what do you mean by the "fwd lower"?

everybody with 96-00 civics. grease your window tracks. the issue is with power and manual. ive never had it, but thats because i grease the tracks every year or so with liquid wrench dry lubricant. you dont even have to take apart anything to do it. just roll the window down, spray in the track liberally (channel the window slides in). and roll up and repeat.

people think its a manufacturers defect but after 10 years people really shouldnt be complaining

if the windows are left unlubricated long enough then the tracks will bend. if the window doesnt even budge theres a good chance your tracks are bent and you will have to replace them.

Fwd lwr .. forward part of the door and lower part of the track. is where it seems to jump first

I will try to put it back and lube it up.

i put it back together and used some LPS (thats all i had)

ive gone up and down 10 times and all is good.

finaly I can put the door skin back on.

im not calling it mfr defect.

heck my cherokee has two busted regulators with only 180,000

the honda has over 250,000

It might be more meaningful for window regulator issues to compare age than mileage.
