d15b vs d15z1
 
was debating about which one to swap into my hatch for better gas milage. was told that the d15b (obd2) has the 3 stg vtec not sure about the d15z1 motor though.

by the way i did search

pure gas mileage, the d15z1, but the d15b offer more performance

d15b is actually the jdm designation for several different engines. the d15b vtec-e engine is the d15z1 equivalent.

Since he was talking about the one with 3 stages, I assumed he wasnt talking about the d15b jdm vtec with about 130hp that is kind of the equivalent of a d16z6 or a d16y8.

In every situation, the d15z1 is the best fuel efficiency engine.
