Does this Aero mod really work?
At the very least, it includes nice instructions on how to do comparison tests for mpg when conducting experiments.
https://www.rexresearch.com/patterson/patterson.htm If this wing does improve highway gas mileage, I wonder if it compromises high speed stability. goto https://images.google.com and do a search for "ram implosion wing" https://pesn.com/2005/03/08/6900067_R...es/BMbyRAP.jpg here is a more comprehensive link to information about this mysterious wing. https://www.pureenergysystems.com/eve...losionWing.htm excerpt from above url: "Patterson claims his invention can triple mileage, all other factors remaining the same. His associate, also present, vouched for the claims and shared a few anecdotal stories in private. He said that the vortex went nearly 100 feet in front of the van, and that he could effect a small trailer on a car in front of him by steering left and right. He also said that when he passed a semi truck that the normal grabbing of the vehicle in the semi's wake was absent. https://pesn.com/2005/03/08/6900067_R...go_RamWing.jpg "Patterson described unusual phenomenon he as observed while driving a vehicle thus fitted. 'We watched flies on the hood stay in place until we were traveling over 60 mph. Streamers on the surface of the vehicle stand perpendicular, rather than parallel to the vehicle.'" |
I haven't seen a test claiming exceptional mileage that could be in any way called rigorous, and those that claim modest gains, one suspects could be duplicated by normal steady speed highway driving in those vehicles with conventional aerodynamic improvements, i.e. tailgate deflectors, spoilers or vortex/turbulation devices.

WTF.....I have a difficult time believing that adding that monstrosity to the roof would increase FE.

Does it look any less ridiculous than crap like this?

This guy also claims that quantum physics are encoded in ancient Japanese statues.

It looks like a UFO...
Maybe if you put an electric eBay supercharger it will even quintuple your gas milage!! |
Perhaps it will even make your car fly over rush-hour traffic
