Front tire wear
 

Seems like my front tires are wearing off at their center.
Anyone else seeing that happen with hyperinflated tires?

Do you think it could be the hypermiler maxed out tire pressure?
Or is it the gas guzzler screeching around turns?
Or is it the ricer car lowering?

what brand/make tires? what pressure?

If they're wearing in the center, either back off the pressure a little or take corners faster... :D

What is the size, maximum rated pressure, maximum rated load capacity, actual pressure, and actual load?

Center wear is indicative of overinflated tires. You have too much air in those tires.

i have my tires maxed out and i still get wear on the outside edge in the fit and on the inside edge in the civic.:thumbup: :thumbdown:

The Civic is misaligned. The Fit is either misaligned or you're taking the corners too fast. Have the tires remounted inside-out on both cars if their alignment is perfect, then you'll wear the other edges...

the civic is really low on stiff springs and i refuse to get a camber kit. i dont feel comfortable taking turns as quickly as i do at an auto-x on public roads. the fit on the other hand is completely stock and the outside wears when i drive it, not when the wife does. go figure.

the wear on the fit isnt really noticeable until you actually measure it. on the civic you can kinda tell when you take the wheel off and look close. but if i just turn the wheel to look at the tread you cant tell. to be honest i hate the civics 17in wheels and el cheapo tires. they are loud and dont have sufficient dry grip for when i really want to have fun.

Yeah, I'd just flip the tires when they're halfway worn and call it good enough. :)

thisisntjared needs an alignment for his civic, and back off the accelerator for the fit, yeah. :) My tires used to be like his fit, guess a few month of hypermiling ate the rest. So much for "savings".

Flipping the tire is expensive: you'd need to unmount, remount and rebalance the tires at a shop.

Personally I'm thinking of rotating with the back ASAP.
Maybe lower to 36PSI?
