how can you conserve gas?
 

With the continuous increase of gas prices, how can you conserve gas of you are driving a SUV? Would it be appropriate if I'll sell it? Any kind of strategy will do. Thanks in advance.

Stick with the SUV and try to do as many of the gas saving tips from here (https://www.gassavers.org/article.php...ps-to-save-gas) as possible. Selling it for a more efficient vehicle is a command call based on your own lifestyle, needs, demands and priorities. I don't need a SUV so I would probably sell it. Just do the math and make an educated decision with all of the facts in hand.

Also figuring out your goals ahead of time would be wise.

It depends on the vehicle... Is it paid off, how much driving do you do, and how much could you get for it if you traded it in?

On my 1998 GMC Sierra I decided that since it was paid off, and I don't drive much that its cheaper to keep it. Plus, with over 150,000 miles on it I'd be lucky to get $2,000 on trade for it even though its in great condition and runs flawlessly. Eventually what I plan to do is buy a newer daily driver vehicle, relegate The Beast to "beater status" and sell my current beater pickup truck, "Rusty" as a restorable classic/antique project vehicle.

I just don't see spending over $10,000 to get another 10, 20 or even 30 MPG. $10,000 buys a lot of gas, even at today's prices.

If you can work on cars and want to save money - get a 92-95 Civic VX. Should be about $2-$3K depending on the condition. At that price level it's the most economical practical car you can buy.

Park SUV if you still need it for occasional trips. I picked up two VXes in the last 6 months, been riding mine for 3 months, getting my wife's VX ready for winter. For me it was 94 Lincoln Mark VIII@20 MPG(premium) to 94 Civic VX@45MPG(regular). It's not as comfortable, but saves a lot of money in gas, and I'm now better prepared for gas rationing/shortages.

That sig is odd. Instead of using the built-in signature function, you've duplicated the line that it uses to separate signatures from text and I assume you're pasting the signature in. Why would you do that?

Also, you misleadingly display "autopartswarehouse.com" when the link goes to "turbokiddave.wordpress.com". Why would you do that?
