Free Hypermiler Decal

I found this on another fuel economy site and thought others might be interested.

I just ordered one!! thanks, seems like a cool concept!

Grabbed one as well. Not sure I like the 'Lawful Hypermiling' at the bottom but it's the thought that counts. Just "Hypermiling' would have sufficed.

cool, I just ordered one too...but I think this should be posted in the General discussion. Then everyone would get one!

I just saw an update on the cleanmpg.com forum that I guess was posted by the people sending these out. It said the decals were supposed to be coming in from the printer next week and they would be sending them out then.

It's a cool idea but has to catch on more. As for now I think my hypermiling is fairly stealth, I don't do a lot of P&G in heavy traffic, etc and being a gigantic truck they just think it's struggling to make the next hill or whatever.

I think with that on the back they'd purposefully try to ram me to teach the 'stupid' hypermiler a lesson. Plus law enforcement might pay closer attention and notice coasting or EOC. But by all means I want it to be common to watch out for hypermilers the way you watch out for bicyclists (oh wait, most motorists just get pissed off at bicyclists and try running them off the road which is why I don't bike anymore... :( ).

me too

Same here. I don't do P&G unless I pretty much have the road to myself, which is almost never. EOC is out because I don't wish to damage my transmission. I will shut my engine off at long lights though, but I watch the signal on the crossstreet, and when it turns yellow I start the engine, so I'm ready to go when my light turns green. I don't want to hold up traffic.

For the most part my hypermiling consists of gliding whenever possible (when it won't hold up traffic), idling up to red lights, shutting the engine off at long lights, and setting the cruise @ 60 on the highway. If braking is necessary I utilize DFCO as much as possible.

Then of course there's my vehicle mods to aid me in my efforts. Scangauge, Extended airdam, tires aired up to 70 PSI, grille block, and air intake rigged to pull warm air from the engine bay.

I'm hitting the EPA highway rating driving in mostly city traffic. I'm averaging just shy of 16 MPG (EPA HWY) and according to the EPA my city rating is 12, and my combined rating is 13.
