New to trying to saving fuel

Hello everyone!

Im new to the hypermiling/FE scene.

After being a get there as fast as I can person (still working on that but getting better) I have managed to finally get my running late habits under control and actually head to where Im going alot sooner so that I arrive early.

This seems like a great time to start learning about hypermiling and take advantage of improved FE.

I have a 96 Acura TL 2.5L which unfortunately is an auto (with no choice for a manual trans).

The only real thing that I have done for the car right now is installing Halo Spark Plugs which I got on a whim after researching installing a Hydrogen Assist Fuel Cell using water.

My plans are to get as FE as I can before installing any HAFC systems so that those gains are fully maximized.

My near future plans are to build an air dam and grill block and install some VGs.

I havent really seen any other TL owners of my modest (but intentionally underated by Acura) engine so its going to be interesting to see what I can get.

Car info as stands:

Before Halo's, i got 24 MPG with AC full blast and doing 75MPH using cruise control going down the highway.

I just installed the Halo's on Tuesday, so I dont have a full tank of gas under the belt to compare to previous refills. Yea, i know, a scanguage is in my near future.

I know that my driving habits will have to be adjusted such as doing 65 instead of my 75, but im willing to learn.

If there are any n00b links to get me started that would be great, but in the mean time, im scouring the site for more knowlege and insight into grill blocking, but in a stylish manner.

Welcome aboard. I just started hypermiling and ecomodding a month ago and have seen great improvements with my mileage. These guys are great here. Search the forums for info on how to hypermile and you're on your way.

There are some noob links. Theres a tab at the top of the screen that says "201 tips to save gas", though I disagree with much of it and find much of it useless though not disagreeable. I have some info linked in my sig, including an introduction I wrote a couple months ago detailing what I had learned so far.

`preciate the help. Im gonna get my car as FE as possible so that it costs less to drive to disc golf tournaments.

Very addicting sport, but then again, i think that upping the FE on my car might be addicting too.
