Driving habits, gas saving technics.
 

I have been working on my driving habits in order in increase gas mileage. I have two vehicles, I still haven't figured out how to put them in my signature line, they they appear their then I figured it out. Anyway on my truck a Toyota Tundra, I can drive without ever having to have my RPM's get above 2000, but my with my Toyota Camry that just doesn't work, it need to much higher in RPM's to move itself around, but it gets much better gas mileage anyway. I don't know if this thinking is saving me gas but it helps me not put my foot into it if I have a maximum RPM goal for acceleration. I will know more when my ScangaugeII get here that I bought off of ebay.

Anyone else have any safe but effective gas saving driving technics they use?

To get your vehicles in your sig, you'll have to do these things:
1. Add them to the Garage
2. Enter data in gaslogs for them
3. The Garage entries will have the thing that looks like this:

along with a box below it labeled "Copy and paste this text to other forums to post your stats" which contains the code. Copy that code and paste it into your sig, which you can edit in the UserCP.

one technique I have been using (and I renamed it) is "gunning it for FE"

basically I know that my car (automatic) canges into top gear around 40 mph. so I give it half to three quarters throttle until I get up to 40 or there abouts. I then let off of the gas and baby it up to whatever the speed limit is. the idea behind this is that you are less efficient in lower gears so why stay in a lower gear for any length of time. also, with an auto trans, I don't have the option of chosing my gear.

maybe this will help. the scangauge was a big help to me.
