Do not assume the new plugs or wires are not...

Do not assume the new plugs or wires are not defective as well as a bad cap too! Check by pulling a plug wire out of the cap to see which plug may not be firing or a safer way is to pull the plugs...

Just to be sure, you filled the tank the first time then drove it, and when you filled it again you took the mileage driven and divided by the second fill up gallons. Right?

That's fuel expansion of a full tank while driving most likely plus too few miles driven. Plus if the tank wasn't full to the top and spilling over you may have had an air pocket at the second...

I am sticking with the gas as the cause. The old gas just had more energy in it or was thicker and affected the air fuel ratio. Uh unless you calculated wrong?

Sounds like the gas in it was concentrated btu gas ... All the low btu components had evaporated. The oil light coming on is not good! Also sounds like you had a prior owner who didn't know about oil...
