Updates:

Well I parked the car for the winter and started tackling some rust repair and modifications I wanted done.

First I cut out the body shop's attempt to fix my quarter panel rust. Their "fix" made the rust much worse and it spread pretty badly over the past two years.

Then I started playing around:
*bought a new hood
*shaved the front and rear emblems
*shaved the antenna
*moved the drivers seat mounting bolts backward 3 inches for more leg room

Enjoy the pics

The car will be painted when the weather warms up enough. The car looks to be in a pretty rough state right now but I have had a lot of work smoothing out the body from 23 years worth of dings, dents and rust. I found a few holes through the floor that needed patched and other spots needed some attention.

Looking good. Your car is going to be like new when you're done.

That's a lot of work, well done. Are you going to change the colour?

I'm going to keep the stock color just for simplicity and I dont want to paint the door jams and engine bay.

Ill paint it this spring when it warms up.

well its been 8 long months since I have taken this car off the road for body restoration. Between work, wife and 2 kids, finishing my master's degree, buying a new house and life in general this project hit the back burner but is finally seeing the light of day.

I sprayed paint on it Saturday and will focus on getting this VX back on the road ASAP.

I changed the color slightly, was Tahitian green (original OEM color from 1992) but I sprayed it Aztec green, slight difference but less blue and more green.

Stay tuned for more pictures outside of the garage

Looking good, that's a cool colour, not too different from the stock colour which is nice. Wish I had the time and space to restore a car, it always looks fun, but there are very few projects here. Most are either fully restored and expensive, or a total wreck, there's nothing in between!
