ive seen an old 325 at 340k and another at 600k!

too bad so many people fall into the trap of not checking their oil on their saturns...
so many bad engines at 170k

I wonder how the new 2.0 ecotechs will do.. The newer model saturn engines must have those proper drainage holes, after all they were sharing engines with saab and pontiac...

no DRUMS OR ROTORS FROM AUTOZONE?

PADS ARE ONE THING, BUT I WOULD NEVER USE AUTOZONE ROTORS, EVER

IM A SAFETY FIEND

GO TO NAPA AND LOOK AT THE COMPARISON BETWEEN THEIR ROTORS AND AUTOZONE ROTORS, IF YOU CAN FIND IT

THEY ALSO HAVE A GOOD FRAM FILTER TO THEIR NAPA BRAND FILTER COMPARISON, CUT IN HALF...

Anyone who compares oil filters knows Fram filters are crap. My brother in law that works at a dealership calls them "The orange can of death." I personally like Wix filters.

If they were unsafe, we'd hear about it. What sucks about cheap rotors is that they're more likely to warp sooner.

If anything, I'd be more worried about pads. Rotors are made from a single piece, pads are glued or riveted, so you have to worry about how well they're attached.

It's got Auto Zone rotors which have been on it for several years and still has the factory original drums.

Prior to this car the most I'd ever put on one was 231K miles and it was using about a quart of oil about every 300 miles so I was pouring in burnt oil just to keep the crankcase full, and it hadn't had the oil changed in over 30K miles before I got rid of it, but I sold it to a friend who needed some cheap transportation and he beat the hell out of it and still drove it for a year or two. I don't know what he did with it when he got rid of it, whether he sold it or sent it to the bone yard.
