As others have said, the biggest symptom of bad intake valve stem seals is that it will smoke bad after you take off from a stop light (after high vacuum). If it blows lots of smoke for a long time when you accelerate hard- that's usually the rings.

Did you replace both the intake and exhaust valve stem seals? How bad were the old ones? Were they cracked and swelled?

I did intake and exhaust, although they came apart when i removed them they didn't look that bad. The head did have around 150k on it and the head sat out of a car for around year.
