CRX + D15Z1 Timing/CEL Question

I bought an ECU jumper harness from Rywire.com a while back for my '89 CRX HF to swap in a D15Z1 ('92-95 Civic VX VTEC-E engine) using the stock P07 ECU and 5-wire O2. The harness worked great and the car fired on the first try with no CELs! My question is, with Rywire harness, the instructions told in order to check CELs in the future (and I assume adjust timing as well), that I would need to ground the blue wire (on the supplied harness), which I have done while tuning and it worked when my VTEC psi switch failed to stay connected. With the blue wire as my new service connector, does the factory one from my old D15B6 now serve any purpose? It is located in the engine bay on the driver's side near the shock tower and is still there in the factory engine harness. When I check the timing will I need to use the stock connector, the blue one from the Rywire harness, or a combination of both? Thanks, Mak

PS -- I contacted Rywire a few days ago and haven't heard back so I figured ol' Gassavers would save the day again.

I got the reply from Peter at Rywire, stating that the new blue wire essentially replaces my old service connector, so it no longer serves any purpose. Pass it on...Mak
