Most hand switches you push away to turn on (and it stays on) but if you pull towards the wheel and let go it will simply flash quickly.

Which is exactly why I said "MOST hand switches", not "ALL hand switches".

Newer Hondas have the push-away dimmer switch. You pull toward you to flash the brights. My 2005 Si has the newer system, and my VX has the older one. Surprisingly, I don't mix them up while driving. I was repeatedly mixing up the wiper knobs when I started driving the Si, after years of using the older-style Honda wiper switch.
