Low power consumption cd player

I have a 42 hp 660cc sub compact here in Japan, and the install of my cd player shows no difference in my mpg. i went from not using the stock tape deck, to constantly using the cd player. If it did decrease my fuel usage, then it was within the normal variances of my fill-ups.
