VX rear brakes

The backing plates on my 93 vx are rusting through. It seems that they've been discontinued and are hard to find. Anyone have ideas where to find them or what other years/models are compatible?

I think that any 1992-1995 Honda Civic CX/DX/VX/LX used the same rear drum brakes, as did the 1993-1997 Honda del Sol S. You can usually find them in a junkyard.

There are holes in them. The small hole for the pin holding the shoe on is so big, the pin just falls through. I'm thinking that some of the junkyard ones around here will also be very rusty and was hoping to find new ones.

Forgot bout that. Disk conversion? Look on Honda tech ask there. Next time I'm in the junkyard I'll look no promises.

Word to the wise, there is an "EG" (92-95) Civic model -- LX, I think -- that has drums in the rear that are bigger than the ones on the VX. I found a car in a yard that wasn't an EX or Si and figured the drums would work just fine on my VX. Wrong! They were too big. You might want to measure yours before you go out hunting for replacements. Good luck ...

Look at online parts stores and see what civics take the same size rear drum.

stopped at the junk yard today and no one there. I'll keep looking. I'm also trying to decide when to stop putting money into this car. I may look for another civic hatch and swap the engine?

It's a month old but he might still have them. I see them for sale over there all the time. Lots of upgrades and disk swaps. They give it away for shipping almost. There is a new one or two in the yards by me. Old like to go look myself. Want an arm rest. Don't want to pay 100-150 what they go for. also need a few odds and ends.
