Yep, I hit 42mph and the Torque converter locks. But I can reduce the speed (without totally letting of the throttle, otherwise it will unlock again) all the way down to 35mph.
That's what I always try to do if the speed limit is 35mph, go to 42 and then back down to around 37-38mph so that it is locked.
i got my scangauge now. and i tested my idea. Highway driving scanguage reads 33-40mpg. driving city speeds 35-45mph. scanguage read 42-49mpg!!!!! holy mpg Batman.

thats exactly what i do. my torque converter lock at 42 and i can usualy bleed speed down to about 36-37 mph without it unlocking.
